Pre-performance press: A Little Bird: The Newcastle Herald, Thursday 2nd November, 2006:

Remake of Classic Sure to Stir by Ken Longworth

Fans of the Harold Pinter classic, The Caretaker can expect to have a divided reaction to director Niz Jabour's treatment of it in the forthcoming Newcastle Theatre Fest 2006.”

Jabour and his three actors have streamlined the work... and given it a new name, A Little Bird.

They have changed the setting from post-World War II London to present-day Newcastle. And, probably the most contentious change, the 70-year-old vagrant is being played by a twentyish woman.”

Niz... makes no apologies for putting together a (festival) program that offers shows which are very different from drawing room comedies and whodunnits”

(A Little Bird) could be about a displaced person anywhere in the world”
